advanced sheet thumb

A new build is available that mostly addresses issues with macros and loading sheets. Build v0.202 is necessary for the sample sheet from the tutorial video.

The video on advanced character sheets can be found on the video tutorials page.

You can also download the sample sheet.

The download links are available in the latest Kickstarter Backer update. If you pre-ordered through BackerKit then you should have received an e-mail with the updated links. If you haven’t, please send an e-mail to backerkit@tabletopconnect.com.

practical sheet thumb

Build v0.201 is available for download. This build adds error output on macros to the chat panel and allows textboxes to be included in macros. Shift-copying of sheet elements when the edit dialog is open will commit any changes from the source element and switch focus to the new element.

These fixes and additions are primarily focused on the newest video tutorial, “Creating a Practical Sheet,” and on the upcoming tutorial on advanced character sheets.

The example sheet from the tutorial is available for download.

The download links are available in the latest Kickstarter Backer update. If you pre-ordered through BackerKit then you should have received an e-mail with the updated links. If you haven’t, please send an e-mail to backerkit@tabletopconnect.com.

Interim build v0.2 is available.

roll macro

This build fixes character sheet macros and adds support for flavor text with roll macros. When adding flavor text use a ‘%’ in place of the player or character name.

chat success

In addition to macros working, macros that resolve to a true or false condition will be displayed in the chat with a check or an x. You can see the roll macro evaluated above.

overflow

A new parameter has been added to text and number elements: Overflow. You can set this to allow text to extend beyond the boundaries of the textbox. It’s particularly useful for number fields that you want to extend all the way to the edge of the box.

The first of the updated video tutorials has been posted. This video covers the start-up player options and the basic camera controls. It will be followed soon by new videos on dice rolling, the chat window, creating sheets, creating maps, and so on.

Bugs are being fixed as required (or discovered) for the videos, so expect a new build this weekend. Character sheet macros have been fixed and a few other bugs will likely be addressed for the next build.

The next interim build (v0.198) is available.

Fixes in this build

  • player visibility
  • changing sheets at run-time
  • adding/sending notes
  • player lighting toggle in map edit
  • movement cost and path arrow displays.

Outstanding bugs

  • preview image for maps
  • objects outside of the map boundaries are not removed if a map’s dimensions are decreased
  • adding objects to a map that is shared with players is not updated over the network.
  • dice collider in the map view is on the size of the map
  • GenMacros are not functioning

Changes and additional features

updated sheet editor(no text)

The text object for character sheets has been removed. All text elements now use the textbox object. The number fields also use textbox formatting.

sheet editor background

Textboxes display a background image while in edit mode to aid layout. Additionally, a snapping feature has been added to help align objects on a sheet.

window display options

A display options button has been added to the top-left of the top bar. This will allow the user to toggle the display of the dice bar and the player icons. When in the map view, the map edit UI can also be toggled.

Player notes now support all sheet object types, e.g. an image can be added as a note. When running as a player in a session, the pen tool can be used by the player to add notes to a sheet. When running as a GM in a session, the pen tool functions normally, but a checkbox “Use as note” has been added to the top tabs panel.

add to turn order

When in map view, players can move their miniatures freely, unless a player or NPC has been added to the turn order. Once the turn order is active, players can only move during their turn.
